From Holley, With Love is a participatory multimedia publication of practical stories, resources, and inspiration for becoming who you are and creating work you love. While it includes a few components, the signature offering is the piece you’re getting ready to read and/or listen to now; a monthly (audio)essay of musings and explorations on self-actualization, creative practice and process, and liberatory approaches to work; occasionally sprinkled with questions to help us get closer to the truth.
We meet again, y’all!
It feels really good to be back here with you, and in a space where I feel clear about what I want to say again. I could devote thousands of words to catching you up on the past 365-ish days but I’m really here today to extend an invitation, so I’ll spare you all the fanfare in this particular post and share a couple prominent themes instead: grief, radical accountability, death, rebirth, renewal, Divine inspiration, transformation.
I’ve been working through the overwhelm that creeps in from the weight of everything happening in our world — interconnected fights for land justice, environmental justice and basic human rights. One question keeping me present and nudging me back toward my power is: “What will you do with your agency today?“
Whether I’m at work or at play, it’s my reminder to take incremental steps in the direction of what feels like freedom for myself and others (like you). On the work front, lately I’ve been in the zone with my team at Oratory Glory creating offerings that:
1. Get us out of our individual heads and into the heart of community, and
2. Help us expedite the change we wish to see in the world.
Next Wednesday, August 21, we’re hosting our first experience of the year and one of my favorite spaces to facilitate. It’s an online community forum exploring new ways to uncover and confidently talk about who we’re becoming and what we’re doing with our agency to instigate change.
For those who struggle to talk about who they are, and what they do (especially within the context of all that’s shifting globally), I designed the experience to be a mix of breakout exercises, small group discussions, and role play to practice confidently talking about what you’re up to, how you want add value and make an impact in the world around you.
The forum is open to 50 creators and changemakers around the world; no matter what discipline, industry or stage of your journey you’re in. If you’re reading this and it feels like I’m talking to you, I would love for you to join us. You can check out all the details and register or join the waitlist here.
I hope to see you there!
And either way, I’m sending you big love as always,
H
