I hope the past few days have been kind and easy on you. I’m just about done writing this month’s From Holley, With Love essay and I’m looking forward to recording and publishing it tomorrow for you to read and/or listen to. I don’t know about you but I’m honoring slow motion this week and I’ve been taking my time moving through things as much as I possibly can.
Sometimes I need a little upbeat jolt though, and fortunately that’s where music and dance breaks come in. I’ve been moving my body to this joint since Jamila in Charlotte, NC (hey, Jamila 👋🏾) sent it to me on Monday:
I’m back in curation mode putting together this Sunday’s Seven Bops playlist so if you’ve got something to toss gently place into the hat for consideration, please reply to the thread (or respond via email) with:
Your name + where in the world you’re sharing from,
The artist and title of the songs that’ve been moving you through the week, and
What makes the song a bop?
Submissions are open until Friday, May 12 at 6pm EST.
Hi Nqobile 👋🏾. Tracy Chapman is such a gem! My partner introduced me to her music (she adores her). Thank you for this submission ❤️. I’m cueing it up to give it a listen right now!
What are you listening to this week?
Hey Holley!
This song definitely has a feel good vibe to it.

3.Tracy Chapman's music has gotten me through the hardest days and she's written some of my favourite romantic ballads Open arms being one of them.
